What is Endodontics?
Endodontics is a branch of dentistry that deals with the diagnosis and treatment of diseases of the pulp. Pulp is the term used to describe the soft tissue inside the tooth that contains blood vessels, nerves, and connective tissue. The most common procedure performed by endodontists is a root canal, which involves removing the diseased pulp and cleaning out the infected root canal. In some cases, the tooth may also need to be fitted with a crown. Endodontists are also experts in treating cracked teeth and performing microsurgery on the roots of teeth. In addition to root canals and other therapeutic procedures, our dental professionals also provide preventive care and education on how to maintain healthy teeth and gums.
